Twilight Princess Isn't As Difficult As You Think
Twilight Princess Game Review Twilight Princess is the darkest most serious, most serious and serious Nintendo 3D Zelda game. It pushes the visual presentation of the Wii to its limits. It's more unnerving and murky than The Wind Waker, with the absence of bug-eyed pig guards or effeminate pirates. Link is pulled into a parallel dimension called Twilight Realm, where he transforms into a Hylian and a wolf while being guided by Midna. Gameplay The thirteenth installment of The Legend of Zelda is Twilight Princess. It was released for the Nintendo GameCube and Wii systems in the year 2006. The game was praised by critics, and received perfect scores from a variety of publications, including 1UP, CVG, EGM and GamesRadar. It is considered by many as one of the best games in the series, and it was the most-seller Zelda game on the PAL market. Twilight princess features an artistic and naturalistic graphic style that is similar to Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask with a much more advanced graphic engine. It's the first game in the series to have an entirely directional motion control scheme, instead of a fixed viewpoint like previous games. This modification was made in order to work with the Wii console's point-based interface. The GameCube version of the game features a section at the back that contains mirror-image maps to those who prefer the fixed view. When entering the Twilight Realm, Link is transformed into a wolf, and then meets Midna, the mysterious creature. She is able to reveal that the kingdom of Hyrule has been taken by a group shadow creatures led by the evil sorcerer Zant. She also explains she is the real ruler of Twili but was taken over by Zant and cursed to her current form. A short cutscene shows the soldiers being killed by shadow creatures when Link and Midna reach Hyrule Castle. Link and Midna then escape the castle via an entrance tunnel to enter the Twilight Realm. Link can move more freely around the world in the Twilight Realm by using his Wolf form. Link can also make use of his senses to navigate around the world. He can sense the ghosts of soldiers and animals in the distance. Link can also pull grass from certain patches and then whistle with it to call an animal, like a Hawk or Epona. Link can also whistle near the patches to summon an identical animal. Twilight Princess is no different from previous Zelda titles in that music plays a significant role. Link can play instruments that are musical, such as the flute or harp, in order to attract and summon different animals. He can also use his voice to command the wolf's appearance. In addition, he can use his compasses to guide him through the world and keep him from getting lost. Characters The Legend of Zelda is full of unique and colorful characters that leave an impression that will last forever. From hands that come out of toilets to pirates sailing across vast oceans, these quirky and creative personalities are the heart of the game. Twilight Princess continues in the tradition of previous games, introducing numerous memorable characters. Link is introduced to new NPCs throughout the story who are not only interesting but also plausible. It is a huge step towards the right direction that many of these NPCs actually play a part in the story rather than just being a victim. NPCs like Rusl who explains that the forest is becoming more risky now and kidnaps children, or the Ordon villager who disguises himself as a wolf when the kids are kidnapped all have distinct personalities. Other notable characters include Iza, who operates the Boat Rental Cabin, as well as Iza's Rapid Ride in the Lanayru Province, Louise, the cat of Telma who helps Wolf Link locate a secret passageway through her bar as well as sewer system that leads to the castle and Faron, whose spirit guides Link and Midna to the Forest Temple in the Eldin Province. The two team members defeat Diababa's Fused Shadow and obtains the first Tear of Light. Midna the princess of the Twilight Realm, is also one of the most intriguing characters in the game. She is able to switch between her wolf and human forms and has a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom. She befriends Link and shares with him her experiences in the twilight and how she defeated Zant, the king of Twilight. Zant is the evil sorcerer who controls the Twilight Realm. He possesses the second half of the Triforce of Wisdom. He was banished to the Twilight Realm by the goddesses for stealing their land and enslaving people. Zant's magic keeps him permantently in wolf form, however Midna dispells the power and allows him to change into his human form as needed. The game also has an upgraded horse named Epona that can be riding in Hylian and wolf forms. Link can whistle around certain patches of grass to call the animal (similar to Majora's Mask). The player is able to name the horse which makes Twilight Princess the first time in the series where the player can personalize their own horse. Theme Music is among the most important elements of any Zelda game, and it can make a place feel vast, epic, and engrossing. However, Twilight Princess is criticized for having an inconsistent and unreliable soundtrack that doesn't capture the emotional impact of certain moments. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and other games have captivating music that explode at the right moment to create a sense of grandeur and eeriness. Toru Minegishi and Asuka Ohta were responsible for the sound design and music in Twilight Princess, with Koji Kondo overseeing the series's composers for the first time since Wind Waker. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a bold departure from the usual approach to the franchise, with a minimalist approach to the melody and arrangement. The majority of themes for dungeons and fields start with a single instrument, creating an eerie and mysterious atmosphere for the player. For example, the haunting music of Midna's lament makes use of an ordinary piano to create a soaring feeling of sadness for the player. Dungeon themes are the most prominent examples of this trend towards minimalism, with many dungeons featuring a dreary and ominous ambience. This style is evident in the Twilight Realm theme, which features a soundscape that could be appropriate for the soundtrack to a David Lynch film. The absence of melody and the traditional arrangement of this track emphasizes its ominous, spooky nature. Drones and bizarre patterns intertwine to create a dark and eerie sound. Link's home-town song, “Faron Woods,” is a more energetic and joyful song. This song employs a variety of strings and soft sounds to create a calm and secure experience for the player. The song also has a subtle reference to the franchise's most famous scene, as it features an riff that is like the iconic tune that plays at the start of Ocarina of Time. Twilight Princess also has dynamic songs that change according to the player's location, the activity they're doing and what's happening. For instance, the Hyrule Castle Town theme has distinct versions for each area of the town and Central Square being the most popular. Central Square having a more boisterous and full version of the tune. These variations add a wonderful touch to the world of Hyrule and add a sense of depth and immersion. Story The story of Twilight Princess revolves around Link trying to stop Hyrule from being engulfed by the corrupted parallel dimension referred to as the Twilight Realm. To accomplish this, he adopts the form of both a Hylian and a Wolf, as well as being helped by a woman whose name is Midna. Midna was the original ruler of Twili but she was supplanted and cursed by Zant into her imp form. Link and Midna are instructed by the Sages of the past that only defeating Ganondorf will be capable of releasing them from their curse. Holmes Trail reveal that the Mirror of Twilight is the source of the darkness that exists in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link journey to the Spirit's Spring where they encounter dangerous creatures that kidnap children. Wolf Link's keen sense of smell assists them in tracking the children's scent to a bridge nearby that they cross over into the Twilight Realm. They enter the Forest Temple, battle Diababa and receive the first Fused Shadow. Faron informs them of the next destination, which is the Eldin Province in the west (Wii), or east (GCN). At the Lakebed Temple in Lanayru, Midna transports Link to an erupting rock and uses her powers to melt the ice in the bottom of Lake Hylia. Rutela's spirit, the recently gone Zora queen appears to Link and informs him that he needs to visit the Lakebed Temple if he wants to access the treasure of Zora. Returning from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask The horse Epona is able to be used in Twilight Princess. Link can select the name of the horse, in contrast to the predetermined names used in previous games. After arriving in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link recover the remaining Mirror Shards. At the Palace of Twilight, the Sages declare that Midna is actually the true ruler of the Twili and Hyrule kingdoms, but she has been overlooked by the monarchy, and then turned into a god for power. The Sages inform them that they will only be defeated by Ganondorf if they bring Ganondorf to the light and break the pact made between the Twilight kingdom and the Hyrule kingdom.
